Collection: Deca Brewery

The Christiaens family is a brewing family with a long history of brewing in the genes. The first generations ran a brewery in Aalbeke, part of Kortrijk.

Every first born son within the Christiaens brewing family was named 'Georges'.

A descendants of the third generation Christiaens bought the DECA brewery from the Decaestecker family in 1980.

Georges, the fourth generation within the brewing family, was involved in the heavy chain collision on the A19 in Zonnebeke in December 2013. He died a few days after the accident. As a tribute, his son launched the beer 'Georges IV' in 2014.

At the end of 2013, Georges Nicolas Christiaens, or Nicolas for short, took over the management of the business from his father. Nicolas Christiaens is now the fifth generation within the brewing family. In 2020 his wife Katrien Sampers joined the business.
