Collection: Brouwerij Van Hellemont

Van Hellemont Brewery has existed since 1838 and was started by Johannes Fransiscus Van Hellemont. In the 19th and 20th centuries, this brewery was one of the most important industrial activities in Lubbeek. The brewery was modernized and mechanized in 1910. In 1944, Marcel Van Hellemont, a certified brewer, took over the management together with his brother. They brewed the popular beers “Gold-Pils” and “Export”. The brewery was abandoned in the 1960s.

After 60 years, in 2017, some of Marcel Van Hellemont's grandchildren paid tribute to their grandfather by breathing new life into Brouwerij Van Hellemont. After all, this 6th generation does not want to lose the rich history of the brewery in Lubbeek.

In collaboration with the municipality of Lubbeek, the family history, the brewing process and cultural life are bundled in a new edition of Lubbeekse Historische Tijdingen.

They were further inspired by their grandfather and immediately put a traditional pilsner on the menu: the Linus Pils
