Collection: Jessenhofke

Jessenhofke is located in Kuringen and is one of the rare Belgian breweries that only brews organic beers. Organic beer has been flowing from the brewing kettles in Jessenhofstraat for thirteen years. The name of the location immediately explains where brewer Gert Jordens got the name of the Jessenhofke brewery from.

To obtain the organic label, a number of conditions must be met. The organic label indicates that the ingredients for that product consist of at least 95% organic raw materials, which means that no chemical pesticides or fertilizers were used during cultivation. Furthermore, it is prohibited to add artificial fragrances, colors or flavors or to use genetically modified ingredients. All these conditions are guaranteed by a system of independent inspection organizations that carry out random checks on a regular basis. From the raw materials to the production process, certificates must be added as proof. These raw materials are also more expensive than conventional products.
