Brewery De Wilde Brouwers – Ecological and creative brewing craft on the edge of Ghent

De Wilde Brouwers is an artisanal Belgian brewery located in Merelbeke (Ghent outskirts) where sustainability, innovation, and story-driven beers are central. Their approach is anything but conventional: the brewery uses organic and circular raw materials and aims to brew as planet-friendly as possible, including purified rainwater and solar energy as part of their production process. 

De Wilde Brouwers are also known for their creativity and boldness in beer development: they experiment with diverse ingredients and concepts that tell stories — such as beers brewed with leftover bread or other sustainable raw materials — and names that refer to local culture and humor. 

The brewery is housed in a historic industrial building (the former SOFACQ factory) that also serves as an inspiring meeting place with a brewers’ café and space for tastings and tours.
