Steenuilke – spicy blond with regional flair

Steenuilke is a distinctive blond beer (6.5% ABV) from Brouwerij De Ryck, created in 2009 in collaboration with the Regional Landscape Flemish Ardennes.  This beer was named after the little owl, the small owl that symbolizes nature in the region where it is made. 

In taste, Steenuilke shows a light malt flavor, subtle fruitiness, and a delicate, spicy bitterness with a slightly grassy note.  By adding three regional herbs — including sweet woodruff, angelica, and hawthorn — the beer weaves aromas of herbal landscape with classic hop characteristics. 

Steenuilke is cloudy blond in appearance, with a full-bodied body and a dry, hoppy aftertaste that balances the spicy character.  For those who love regional beers with a unique character, Steenuilke is a recommendation that brings the essence of the Flemish Ardennes into the glass.
