Bieken – Honey tripel from Brouwerij Boelens
Bieken, a name full of meaning: derived from the Sint-Niklaas dialect word for bee and the Biekens, an old gingerbread factory of the father-in-law of brewer Kris Boelens.
Since 1993, this blonde tripel of 8.5% ABV, with bottle refermentation, has been brewed in Belsele. Lightly hopped and refined with selected honey, Bieken provides a full, sweet, and smooth finish — an elegant balance between subtle bitterness and surprisingly sweet notes.
Food pairing tip: this tripel shines with hard cheeses, fatty fish and herb-rich dishes, thanks to its soft sweetness and light hop bitterness.
