Shiso Smokey

Shiso is a Japanese herb — aromatic, lightly spicy, with a character somewhere between mint and basil. For the Shiso Smokey, the brewers at Dok use two different smoked shiso infusions: one in the whirlpool during brewing, and one during lagering. A technique that builds the flavor layer by layer and lets the herb speak at two completely different moments.

The result is a dark, layered smoked brown porter that immediately envelops you. Chocolate and hazelnuts carry the flavor, while the subtle smoke of the smoked shiso adds an intriguing, softly spicy accent. Not a heavy smoky taste, but a refined balance that surprises you every time.
