Brouwerij Van Honsebrouck – family tree and innovative specialty beers

Brouwerij Van Honsebrouck is a respected Belgian family brewery with a rich history dating back to the early 19th century. From the first brewing installations in Werken, the family business evolved through several generations, with Emiel and Louisa Van Honsebrouck founding the Sint-Jozef brewery in Ingelmunster around 1900. Their sons and grandsons further developed the business in the 20th century, gradually expanding the brewery, with an increasing focus on quality and characterful specialty beers.

Today, Van Honsebrouck is known for its extensive portfolio of beers, including the iconic Kasteel line (such as Kasteel Tripel, Kasteel Rouge, and Barista Chocolate Quad), the fruity St-Louis range, the traditional Bacchus Oud Bruin beers, and more modern creations like Brigand.

What makes this brewery special is the combination of tradition and innovation: although the family has always remained faithful to authentic Belgian brewing craftsmanship, Van Honsebrouck is not afraid to explore and introduce new flavors, styles, and techniques. As an independent family brewery, it stays true to its roots but also dares to look forward and evolve.
