Collection: Castalia Craft Beers
Where mythology and local history come together in the glass
Driven by a passion for history, Greece and of course craft beer, Bram Vandewalle founded Castalia Craft Beers at the end of 2016. As with many brewers, the story begins as a hobby project but grows into a full-fledged (provisional) beer company with a unique vision.
The beers of Castalia draw their inspiration from the muses of classical antiquity. Each beer is given not only its own flavor profile but also an artistic label that visually reinforces the story. However, Castalia does not limit itself to mythology: the local history also provides rich inspiration.
A fine example of this is Léonie, a beer that was recognized as regional beer of Zonnebeke and proudly carries the label 100% West Flemish. It is named after Léonie Keingiaert de Gheluvelt, the first female mayor of Belgium (in 1921). Her strong personality is reflected in the spicy pepper notes, while her warm social commitment is mirrored in the soft, fruity finish.
Castalia Craft Beers collaborates with Brouwerij Eutropius and Brouwerij De Feniks for brewing their beers, where craftsmanship and quality go hand in hand.
A beer line full of character, with stories that reach beyond the glass.
