Brewery Slaapmutske – Creative and leading from Melle

Brewery Slaapmutske, founded in 2000 by master brewer Dany De Smet and Marleen Vercaigne, is a Belgian family business with a rich history (). The story began in 1999 when the rebellious “slaapmutsken” beer – reportedly a soothing comfort for baby Jonas – prompted the twin founders to expand: in 2000 they released their first commercial beers. Today they brew a wide range, gliding from traditional blond and tripel to gluten-free, organic, seasonal, and stout variants  .

Slaapmutske distinguishes itself as a beer company: they develop recipes and labels in-house, but do key brewing at De Proefbrouwerij in Hijfte  . Thanks to continuous innovation – including gluten-free and organic lines – their beers taste great both locally and internationally  .

Brewery Slaapmutske radiates creativity, quality, and accessibility. Their range includes classics such as the Blonde (6.4% ABV), Tripel (8.1%), Christmas Gluten-Free (7.4%), to striking seasonal models like “Sunny Moon” (0.3% alcohol) and the powerful hop IPAs  .

In short: Brewery Slaapmutske combines artisanal craftsmanship with innovation and creativity. Their versatile beer range – from traditional to experimental – and their beer company approach make them a prominent player in the Belgian beer world. 🍻
