Schapenkop – Tripel with local character and spicy flair

The Schapenkop is the proud Belgian Tripel (8 % ABV) from microbrewery ’t Paenhuys in Nieuwkerken-Waas.  The name “Schapenkop” originates from the Nieuwkerken dialect: ‘schapenkop’ literally means ‘Nieuwkerkenaar’ — a local nod to the brewers' roots in the region. 

In the glass, it presents itself as a clear, golden-yellow tripel, with a pleasant foam head.  The aroma and taste combine fruity esters and mild spices, with enough body and a soft bitterness to keep everything balanced.  Its profile pairs perfectly with fatty fish, spiced dishes, aged cheeses, or light desserts. 

Schapenkop is therefore much more than just a tripel — it is a beer with local identity, refined structure, and a flavor that invites rediscovery.
