When two independent craft breweries join forces, you can expect something special. Stroom from Ghent and Frontaal Brewing Company from Breda teamed up for the Swell: a hoppy and rustic Belgian farmhouse ale that captures the best of both countries in one can.

The recipe is thoughtfully simple. Pilsner malt forms the light, fresh base, while spelt adds a subtle roundness and a light nutty character — typical of the rustic farmhouse tradition. Magnum hops provide a tight, clean bitterness, while Belgian Cascade brings the fruity and floral notes that make this hop variety beloved. The hybrid saison yeast does the rest: spicy, slightly peppery, and with that typical dry, aromatic character that makes a good saison so addictively drinkable.

The result is a beer that lives up to its name: lightly cloudy, lively and fresh, with a dry finish that always invites the next sip. Accessible enough for a weekday evening, interesting enough to pause for.
