Waase Wolf – A characterful Belgian Dark Ale

Waase Wolf is a warm, amber-colored Belgian Ale from Brouwerij Boelens (Belsele, Waasland), brewed since 2001 in honor of the legendary ‘Waaslandwolf’ who caused mysterious ghost stories at the end of 2000, when several sheep were found torn apart  .

This beer – brewed with a mix of barley and wheat malts, caramel malt and subtle spices (such as coriander and curaçao peel) – has an alcohol percentage of 6 – 6.5 % ABV. Like many Belgian beers, it undergoes a natural secondary fermentation in the bottle, giving it refined carbonation and complexity.

In taste, Waase Wolf unfolds as a blend of sweet and spicy, with aromas of caramel, raisins, sweet spices and a lightly warming finish. The round body combines softness with a subtle bitter note in the aftertaste, demonstrating craftsmanship.
